What are Harry Potter Audiobook Events?
At Pottermore, we love getting our hands on all the Harry Potter merchandise out there. And, of course, we love attending Harry Potter audiobook events. Here are a few of our favourites!
The first event we wanted to mention was the release of the new Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them audiobook. This event occurred at Universal Studios in Hollywood on December 14th and featured actor Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander. The event was filled with trivia, audience participation, and a special film screening before it opened in theatres. If you want a unique Harry Potter experience, this is it!
Another great event occurred earlier this year at the New York Public Library’s main branch. On March 31st, JK Rowling herself arrived to read from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone as part of their Arts & Letters series. The event was broadcast live on PBS stations nationwide, and viewers could participate via social media with #JKPotterNYPL.
This was an amazing opportunity for fans who could not make it to Brooklyn (or who just wanted to watch from afar!) Another fantastic option for fans is the SiriusXM Book Radio channel which will air an exclusive interview with JK Rowling on May 7th about her new book Cursed Child. So whichever way you experience these events – be sure to have your tissues nearby!
When are they happening?
Harry Potter audiobook events are happening all over the place! Here are some of the best ones you should check out:
- The Deathly Hallows – A Harry Potter Movie Experience will be held in Orlando, Florida, on July 15 and 16. This event will include a screening of the movie, a Q&A with the cast and crew, a Harry Potter merchandise auction, and more.
- JK Rowling’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter will have an audiobook event in Hollywood on August 12-14. This includes a screening of the film, Q&A with cast and crew, autograph opportunities, and more.
- In New York City on September 8th, an event will be called “The Unofficial Hogwarts Library Tour.” This includes a screening of the first six movies and an interactive discussion led by J.K. Rowling herself!
- And finally, in London on October 20th, there will be an exclusive opportunity to meet members of the Harry Potter cast at an event called “The Night Of The Living Dead: A Return To Hogsmeade.” This includes a screening of the new Fantastic Beasts movie followed by a Q&A with actors from the series.
How much do tickets cost?
Tickets to listen to the Harry Potter audiobooks in person can cost anywhere from $10-$30 per event. Prices may vary depending on the location and time of the event. Some events offer ticket packages that include tickets to multiple events, while others only have single audiobook events.
Is there an age limit?
There is no age limit for attending Harry Potter audiobook events. Even if you are not a fan of books or movies, there is probably at least one event that you will enjoy.
Audiobook events are held worldwide, and there is always something new happening. Some of the most popular events include readings from the book and movie versions of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Many fans travel to different cities to attend these events because they know that they will be able to experience something unique and special.
What should I wear?
When it comes to enjoying a Harry Potter audiobook event, you should keep a few things in mind. The first is to be sure that you have the appropriate listening device. The most popular choice for events held in theatres is an MP3 player with headphones. However, people prefer cassette tapes or CD players with speakers for events held at bookstores or other public venues.
The second thing to consider is what you will be wearing. For movie theatre events, some people dress up in costumes inspired by the movies. However, if you are attending an event at a bookstore or another public venue, there is no need to dress up specifically for Harry Potter. Many people find it more comfortable and relaxing to wear clothes that make them feel comfortable and stylish.
Where is In-Person Enchantment being held?
